Alanna Stone

Alanna began as a classically trained singer in her hometown of Richmond Hill, Ontario. As a teenager, she performed all over Canada. At the age of 16, she was awarded the Gold Medal for her grade six vocal examination - an honour given to the person with the highest score in the country. She then pursued her love of musical theatre at the prestigious Sheridan Institute, where she graduated as a triple threat with an Honours Diploma in Music Theatre Performance.

Upon graduation, Alanna decided to expand her theatrical skills and began her career as a director and producer. In addition to working as an actress, she spent four years at the Alumnae Theatre in Toronto, learning how to produce, direct and programme a theatrical season.  In 2011, she put her experience to use, co-founding Half-Pint Theatre and serving as its Artistic Producer till she relocated to the UK in 2013. 

Always enamoured with Britain's history of theatrical invention, Alanna moved to London to attend East 15 Acting School, where she graduated with an MA in Theatre Directing. Prompted by a colleague to stay post-graduation with the temptation of "there is work here", she made her move permanent and has not looked back. She has both directed and assistant directed productions across the London Fringe scene and is an active educator. Her work as a private tutor has led to students successfully gaining acceptance to drama schools, landing recalls and getting gigs. She has also worked with younger students in schools across the city as a drama and music workshop facilitator, building confidence, cultivating creativity, and supporting the next generation of artists.
